Look of the Day: Neon Shopping

Here’s a little something I put together over the weekend, portraying my latest obsession: the neon trend! I’m particularly fond of the neon yellow/gray color combo, so just warning you, this won’t be the last time you see me wearing it. Something else that won’t be the last time you’ll see me wearing is the belted-waist silhouette, in fact, it’s what I wear the most. You see, I’m a curvy hourglass figure, and highlighting my waist (like with a belt!) along with an A-cut skirt or dress is what works best on me, so I stick to it. I also looooove statement necklaces, and I own a small collection of them (including this fringe necklace), so that’s another staple of mine you’ll find here often.

This past weekend was quite busy for me, but one of the highlights was squeezing in some time to do some fun shopping. Under 2 hours at the mall is all it took for me to find quite a few lovely additions to my wardrobe. One of them is this neutral envelope clutch from Aldo, which I had been needing for a while, and of course it didn’t hurt that it was on sale for $17!

Hope you guys had a fabulous weekend as well, what were the highlights of yours?

A couple of days ago, I stumbled upon this couple of quotes that pretty much sum up how I feel about being there for other people, whether they appreciate it or not.

Look of the Day: Casablanca

Fashion has always been one of my passions, I have loved dressing up ever since I was little. I can love and appreciate all styles, from ‘preppy’ to ‘rocker chic’, but my personal motto when dressing myself is better described by a popular saying in Spanish: “De la moda, lo que te acomoda“, which translates to something like this, “From fashion, what suits you”. So, I try to find and wear outfits that are flattering and make me look good. I rather look good than look trendy, so you’ll often find me wearing classic, timeless pieces as opposed to the latest trends. However, I do like having fun with new trends, so when I really love one, I try to incorporate touches of it to my outfits, especially with accessories. Plus, those small touches can immediately make a classic look fresh and modern.

Today, I just wanted to share a look I wore Saturday night to go out with friends to one of my favorite bars, The Casablanca Lounge.
